At Tutored and Gifted, every day presents possibility. Students experience creative sessions, outdoor adventures, and unstructured moments to connect and explore. Students’ learning experiences extend well beyond the traditional classroom. They engage in hands-on activities that turn ideas into tangible outcomes, explore creative arts to develop expression and imagination, and practice critical thinking through real-world challenges. Instruction is project-based, blending collaboration, inquiry, and reflection so students design, test, and iterate solutions. This approach fosters deeper understanding, transferable skills, and a love of learning that prepares students to navigate complex problems and pursue lifelong curiosity.

One of a Kind Learning Experiences

Intentional Learning

Private Tutoring

Private tutoring available for foundational reading and math (ages 6–11)

  • Who it's for: Children ages 6–11 who need focused support in foundational reading or math skills.

  • Format: Small-group or individual instruction. Sessions may be one-on-one (1:1) or in groups of 2–3 students. Groups will never exceed 3 students.

  • Separate service: This tutoring is offered separately from our regular programs and is not automatically assigned. Parents must request it to enroll their child.

  • Customized instruction: Lessons are tailored to each child’s skill level and learning needs, focusing on phonics, fluency, comprehension, number sense, basic operations, and problem solving as appropriate.

  • Scheduling and frequency: Sessions and frequency are scheduled based on parent preference and tutor availability. Flexible options include weekly or multiple sessions per week.

  • How to request: Parents should contact us directly to request private tutoring, provide basic information about the child’s age and needs, and indicate preferred days/times. We will follow up to discuss goals, placement (1:1 or small group), pricing, and start dates.

If you’d like to request tutoring for your child, please provide: child’s name, age, target subject (reading and/or math), brief description of needs or goals, and preferred days/times.

Joyful Learning

Activities

Programming at Tutored and Gifted continues beyond the classroom. At Tutored and Gifted, learning is an invitation to explore, create, and enjoy. Our programs combine strong academic foundations with hands-on activities that let students express ideas through art, building, storytelling, experiments, and technology. Children don’t just memorize facts — they design, build, test, and present work that matters to them.

Why parents notice the difference

  • Creative projects reinforce core skills: reading, math, science, and critical thinking are learned by doing — writing scripts, measuring materials, coding simple games, or conducting experiments.

  • Multiple materials, multiple minds: students use paper, clay, digital tools, recyclables, and sensory materials so varied strengths and learning styles can shine.

  • Choice builds confidence: kids pick topics, methods, and final formats (presentations, models, videos, performances), which fosters ownership and motivation.

  • Joyful, structured learning: activities are carefully planned to be playful yet purposeful, with clear goals and teacher guidance so curiosity leads to measurable progress.

  • Collaboration and communication: group projects teach teamwork, listening, and presenting — skills valuable in school and life.

What parents can expect

  • Regular examples of student work and progress updates.

  • Projects that connect classroom learning to real-world problems.

  • Safe, supportive spaces where trying and failing are part of the process.

  • Teachers who coach creativity while targeting academic standards.

Learning should be engaging and meaningful. At Tutored and Gifted, we make that happen by blending rigorous instruction with creative experiences that keep children excited about learning and confident in their abilities.
